Spending a little time at home?

Hi Everyone! I miss not seeing you guys at the studio but I though we could have online sewing just like you guys will be having online school. Of course, this will be way more fun than online school! But don't forget, school is important too.

So, I have really been enjoying having a little time to make some things at home and I figure you guys might too. My plan is to post some projects here, I am hoping to post at least one a day. This doesn't mean you need to do all of the projects! It's not like homework, I just want to build up a little library of things you can choose from.

At the beginning I will be using links to online projects that I like but after a while, I am hoping to get my daughter Jane to help me make a few videos so we can have a sort of virtual class because I know you will all miss seeing my face! Well, let's just say I will miss seeing your faces :)

'Sew' here we go!

Just about all of you have made a zippered pouch with me. You know how I love to suggest you take a little time to add embellishments or do a little hand stitching but it is always so tempting just to rush through and be done! Well, now you have the time to add some of the fun touches we have talked about like embriodery or how about making the outside of your pouch out of more than one fabric? Here is a link to a website that has a great tutorial. You can use your machine to make this but you may be surprised to know that you can stitch the whole thing by hand if you don't have a machine! What!?! you ask in horror? Yes, you can do it by hand! What a way to practice your hand stitching! And even though none of us will ever be perfect, practice is the only way to get close! If you have any questions at all, you can leave them in the comments section or email me at merakiatcutler@gmail.com.
